Karthik Subbaraj's dream project 'Petta' starring Superstar Rajinikanth has become a massive hit all over and fans held a celebration meet at the Kasi theater in Chennai. The new age director attended the event and expressed his amazement that watching the film into its third week felt the same as the first day.

Karthik Subbaraj confirmed that his next film will be with Dhanush as the hero and will begin shooting in a few months time. The Dhanush-Karthik Subbaraj project was announced by Sri Thenandal Studios at the audio launch of Vijay's 'Mersal' in 2017. The project was put in cold storage due to 'Petta' but has now been revived. It is said to costar a Hollywood great like Robert Di Nero or Al Pacino.
