Karthi's bi-lingual named as Biryani

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,June 07 2012]

Even as he awaits the release of Shakuni, Karthi has signed a bi-lingual film under the direction of Venkat Prabhu. Biryani will be filmed simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Gnanavel Raja is the producer.

The makers, it is learnt, are seriously considering the name of Samantha for the role of the female lead, as she is a popular starlet in both the States. Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to music-direct this film.

This is the era of bi-linguals in both Tollywood and Kollywood. Surya is one of the few Tamil heroes of this generation who enjoys wide popularity in the Telugu State, perhaps more than Vikram and Ajith. His intention to go for a proper bi-lingual is, thus, not surprising. It may be noted that he had earlier listened to Bommarillu Bhaskar's script.
