On the 22nd of last month, a horrifying terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where 26 innocent tourists were killed by Pakistani militants. In response to this brutal act, the Indian Army launched 'Operation Sindhoor,' targeting and destroying nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This has led to increased tension along the border.
In light of this, renowned music composer and Rajya Sabha MP Ilaiyaraaja has pledged to donate one month's salary to the National Defence Fund. Sharing his thoughts on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Ilaiyaraaja said, "Without knowing that our real heroes would bravely respond to such atrocities at the borders, I named my first symphony of the year ‘Valiant’, a word that signifies courage and bravery."
He further added, "As a proud Indian and Member of Parliament, I have decided to donate the payment from my music concert and one month's salary to the National Defence Fund, in support of our heroes' courageous efforts to eliminate terrorism and protect our people and borders." He ended his statement with "Jai Hind!"
