Kate Beckinsale Officially Returning for 'Underworld 5'

One of the most successful action-horror properties, 'Underworld' is all set for the next film in the franchise. Kate Beckinsale who starred in three of the previous four vampire versus werewolves films is once again returning in her role as Selene.

Theo James, who went on to become popular as 'Four' in the 'Divergent' film series and also having previously appeared in 'Underworld: Awakening' and will be reprising his role as David. James will be returning to the franchise since he is contractually obligated as he signed an agreement during 'Underworld: Awakening'.

'Underworld 5' will supposedly follow a “younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races.”

Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment brings 'Underworld 5' which will be directed by Anna Foerster based on a script by Cory Goodman. Foerster is predominantly known for assisting Roland Emmerich for the 2nd unit in 'The Day After Tomorrow' and 'White House Down'. In addition, her head-director credits include directing episodes of the TV series 'Criminal Minds'.

No release date has been set in stone as of yet.
