Arrest warrant issued against K.E. Gnanavelraja

The Egmore court has issued an arrest warrant against K.E. Gnanavelraja in a long-pending case. A cousin of actors Suriya and Karthi, Gnanavelraja made his debut as producer with 'Sillunnu Oru Kadhal' and has bankrolled several films with Suriya, Karthi, Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi and Arya.
It is said that an income tax case has been pending for a long time and even though the department issued summons Gnanavelraja did not appear in court and hence the warrant has been issued. The judge also adjourned the case to November 27th and it remains to be seen what action the ace producer takes to face it.
