Thala Ajith had acted in the movie Vedhalam directed by Siva, and this movie released in Diwali 2015 was their second movie together after Veeram. Vedhalam was one of the biggest blockbuster movies of the year and in Ajith's career.

Now Vedhalam is being remade in Hindi with John Abraham and in Telugu the movie is being remade by director Meher Ramesh, and will have Megastar Chiranjeevi reprising the role played by Thala Ajith in the original.

While initially it was said that Sai Pallavi might reprise the sister role played by Lakshmi Menon in the Tamil original, the latest buzz is that Keerthy Suresh might be signed to play Chiranjeevi's sister in Vedhalam remake, and an official clarification on this buzz is expected soon.
