As a contingency plan, the makers decided to recreate Kashmir in South Africa as they had to catch the deadline to finish the film. Mahesh Bhatt says, "Yes, this is true. We were at a loss and there was no desire to shoot hearing what had happened in Kashmir but there were deadlines and our crew figured out a place in South Africa that had the look and feel of Kashmir and we decided to shift base and shoot in South Africa." Almost 40 per cent of the film has been shot in South Africa which has given the film breath-taking visuals. All the songs of the film has also been shot in South Africa.
