Filmmaker Subhash Ghai's new film "Kisna - The Warrior Poet" is expected to compete with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Swades".

The Ghai film stars Vivek Oberoi, whose career is at a low.

"I don't think Subhash Ghai needs to prove himself anymore. We are not worried about Vivek's box-office status either. If star presence were to guarantee a big draw at the box-office, 'Swades' should have been a hit," distributor-turned-producer Tolu Bajaj told Bollywood portal Glamsham.

"After 'Swades', 'Kisna' is the only film targeted at a family audience. It will definitely be good news for the box office," said Bajaj.

At least 100 prints of "Kisna" will be released Jan 21 in the Mumbai circuit, and Mukta Arts is planning to intensify the publicity campaign for the film.

Vivek, the hero of Ghai's period film, is set to star in a yet-untitled film to be directed by the producer's son Sachin Bajaj. Vivek was originally cast as the hero of "Baraat", another film to be directed by the younger Bajaj.
