Region based movie have always been done in Malayalam cinema. In 'KL 10 Pathu' Malapuram is the flavor. The slag, the culture, the food and way of life of Northern Kerala finds focus in this movie. Football and romance is a potent combination and 'KL 10 Pathu' explores both beautifully.

Director Muhsin Parari has filled the movie with many novelties. Sreenath Bhasi as  a genie is one such. Many may find this a bit overboard, but this character is very much lovable. The way the football frenzy is pictured too is done differently. Love is the backdrop against which the entire narrative unfolds.

Ahamed and Shadia are in love - a relationship that her family does not accept. They elope, but Ahamed has to come back for an important football tournament. The subsequent happenings are what the movie portrays.

A good deal of the boy gang friendship, along with the socio cultural scenario of Malabar is pictured in the movie. There is a high dose of romanticism of everything - be it the love affair, football or the Malabar. But altogether this romanticism lends it more fun.

'KL 10 Pathu' is a good attempt and can be lauded for its newness. Lead actors Unni Mukundan and Chandini has done well. Chandini's costumes too stand out. Sreenath Bhasi as the narrator is quite impressive. Mushin can take heart that he has presented a decent entertainer with this movie.
