It is reported that Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who has been regularly breaking every possible record in all formats of the game (Tests, ODIs and T20s), is all set to get married to his longtime girlfriend and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in Milan in Italy in a fortnight’s time.

The wedding would be a close-knit family affair and would be attended only by a few close friends and relatives of the families of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, it is further reported. One of the most-love celebrity couples in the country, Anushka has always been spotted at cricketing venues across the world to encourage and support her beau who is predicted by many to become a cricketing legend in future.

Kohli had sought ‘leave’ from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), arguably the richest cricketing body in the world, after the conclusion of the 3-Test series against Lanka which concluded yesterday with India wrapping up the series 1-0. Rohit Sharma would be captaining the side in Kohli’s absence for the 3-match ODI series and the T20 series to follow the Test series.

It now turns out that Kohli’s leave is intended to alter his ‘marital status’ as he is to leave for Milan in a few days’ time with Anushka and along with family members, close relatives and friends of the two families. Arrangements have already been put in place at an undisclosed location in Milan, the northern Metropolis in Italy. None of Virat’s cricketing friends or team mates would take part in the wedding, it is reported.

A formal wedding reception would be held in Mumbai on 21st December to follow the wedding which is to be held in a day between 09-12 December. One of the most eligible bachelors in the country, Kohli would then leave for his honey-moon trip and would be back home well in advance to prepare for India’s grueling trip to South Africa during January-February.

Let’s wish Virat and Anushka the best of things in all their future endeavours!
