Thalapathy Vijay ‘s ‘Mersal’ released this Diwali to an overwhelming response from the audience and has been garnering good word-of-mouth owing to its socially driven content.

The Atlee film stirred a controversy with one of its dialogues criticizing the Goods and Services Tax . The topic has become a trending sensation with national medias debating over the issue. Even amidst the wide opposition it has been receiving, leading names of the film fraternity have come forward to shoew their support to ‘Mersal’.
