Komban

After a slew of flops Karthi made a strong comeback with ‘Madras’ directedby Pa. Ranjith. The film that scanned the lives of people living in North Chennai has become one of the highly acclaimed films of recent times and also set the cash registers ringing.

Now Karthi is getting back to his routes. The actor who debuted in Ameer’s ‘Partuhiveeran’ as a raw and rustic rural thug is acting in a complete rural subject after almost eight years in his upcoming film ‘Komban’. Although he acted as a youngster from a rural town in ‘Saguni’ the story was entirely set in Chennai and there was nothing more than a bit of dialogue accent to give the rural taste for the flick. But ‘Komban’ that is being directed by M.Muthiah is expected to give a complete feel of watching a film set in a rural background since the entire film is being shot in Ramanathapuram an interior district of south Tamilnadu. With the director who has debuted with ‘Kuttipuli’ a film set in Madurai with enormous sentiment and action factors we can be assured of a hard hitting rural flick that will satisfy family audience as well as action lovers.

Karthi gets to pair with Lakshmi Menon for the first time and Raj Kiran will be acting as his father- In -law.  Going by the young actor’s interview, the film will concentrate more on the love-hate relationship between father-in-law and son-in-law, which is a rarely explored subject in films dealing with family relations. With a powerful actor like Rajkiran doing that role, we can be assured of some emotional treat.

Karunas and Thambi Ramiyah will be providing  comic relief and G.V.Prakash is scoring the music. The young composer’s debut film ‘Veyyil’ and National award winning film ‘Aadukalam’ would speak volumes about his ability to churn out rural based melodies and folk numbers. The film produced under the Studio Green banner is progressing at a rapid pace and it is expected to hit the screens in February 2015.
