Recently while in Vijayawada, veteran director Kodandarami Reddy reportedly said that Megastar Chiranjeevi's judgement to remake a subject like 'Katthi' was wrong. This acclaimed 23-time director (of movies like 'Nyayam Kavali', 'Vijetha', 'Challenge', 'Rakshasudu', 'Mutha Mestri') of the Megastar opined that Chiru should have chosen a commercial subject that suits his body language more than a serious subject like 'Katthi', which is more of a message-giving film.

Following the publication of his frank views in the local media, sections of Chiru's die-hard fans allegedly reacted angrily on social media. Days later, the veteran has tendered an apology to Chiru's fans for making those statements at a public event. He has said that he regrets making those statements.

Only the other day, we saw how writer Chinni Krishna obliquely found fault with Chiru going for a remake instead of a straight script like the one he had written. He event went on to say that the remake will be a Xerox copy of the original.
