Kota Factory director talks about the black and white format of the show

The second season of massively hit web show 'Kota Factory' is about to release soon and fans are quite excited to watch the story unfold further. In today's world where filmmakers try every flashy thing to attract viewers, 'Kota Factory' stands out of the crowd because of its black and white format. Set in the city of Kota, the show revolves around a bunch of friends who are preparing for the entrance exam for elite engineering and medical colleges of the country.

A couple days ahead of the release of season 2, director Raghav Subbu talked about the black and white format of the show. He said, "The point of art is to question things. I wanted to do a spin on something that is so set in stone. (The general idea is) it”s either like a Sin City, which has a very graphic novel kind of feel or a period piece like The Artist. We have these associations that we have in our head when it comes to everything. As a director and as a creator, I want to challenge those things.”

Subbu further added that there are some other reasons as well for the show being in black and white but he'd like to keep that a mystery. He stated, "I think the moment I say that this is the specific reason, it loses its charm and its meaning. I want people to intrinsically reflect and discuss. If people do that, then I have won as a director."
