Shankar's Anniyan is being shot at full pace. A major portion of the movie depicting the Thiyagaraja Music Festival at Thiruvaiyaru was shot near Chennai. Interestingly, noted violin maestro Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan has acted in the portion. Vikram is said to play a Carnatic musician in the movie.
