Actor Kushal Punjabi's suicide on December 26, 2019, at his residence in Mumbai's Bandra area came as a shock for many people. According to the police, the young actor committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan with a nylon rope.
Even though Kushal left a suicide note mentioning that no one must be blamed for his decision to end his life, his wife Audrey Dolhan, who tied the knot with him in 2015, has been on the receiving end of accusations, as several people blamed her for his death, claiming that her decision to divorce him had forced Kushal to take the extreme step. Audrey, however, has now stated that it was Kushal who failed their marriage, adding that he was a careless father. "I don't know why I am being blamed for his death, it was Kushal who failed in our relationship," Audrey reportedly said.
"We had problems in our marriage but it was not a failed marriage. I never stopped Kian from talking to his father Kushal. It was Kushal who was not serious about his family. I invited him to settle down in Shanghai but he was least interested. In fact, it was me who was looking after his expenses. Kian lost interest in his father because of lack of seriousness. I tried my best to save my relationship with Kushal. He was a careless father who never bothered about his son's future. I was at the receiving end in the marriage and not him," she further added.
Famous for his role in the TV show 'Ishq Mein Marjawan', Kushal Punjabi had also starred in the Bollywood movies, Lakshya, Kaal, and Salaam-e-Ishq, among others. He rose to fame through his stint in the TV reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Fear Factor.
