Recently in an incident that happened in Jharkhand, a 22 year old youngster was attacked after being accused of theft, and one of the attackers forced the victim to chant Jai Shri Ram. Later the assaulted man was admitted in hospital by the police, but he had passed away.

The video of the man being beaten by the gang and being made to say Jai Shri Ram had turned viral, and actress and politician Kushboo had shared it and questioned if this is new India, where people are being killed and forced to chant Jai Shri Ram. BJP Member and actress Gayathri Raghuram had tweeted in response that it has become trend to brand Hindus as killers and questioned why Kushboo never spoke when other religion people who murdered others.

Kushboo responded to this telling Gayathri to shut up as she tweeted "It won’t take me long to respond to this desperate woman (with zilch recognition from the saffronised party she belongs to), who has been targeting me..listen woman,I respect your late father and your mother n your aunts too much to insult you, so shut up n stay put in ur place..". For this, Gayathri had responded that just because she respects her family, she can't stay silent when Kushboo speaks ill of her religion.
