Famous comedy actor Vivek passed away on 17 April 2021 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 59. Now, the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) has honored the late veteran star with an award for his phenomenal performance in the Tamil film Dharala Prabhu.

The magnum opus event SIIMA 2021 was recently held in Hyderabad. The award for Best Actor in a comedy role for Vivek was received by Kollywood's current comedy star Yogi Babu. At the function, he remembered Vivekh and gave a very emotional acceptance speech.

Yogi Babu personally went to the late comedy legend's house and handed over the award to his family after getting back to Chennai. This humble act of the actor is winning hearts. Vivek's daughter took to the Twitter page to express their gratitude for the lovely gesture of SIIMA and Yogi Babu.

The emotional tweet from Vivek's handle read, "Thank you @siima for honouring my dad with the award for Best Actor In a Comedy role - 2020 for Dharala Prabhu. Thank you very much @iYogiBabu anna for receiving it and bringing it home. Thanks to the team of #DharalaPrabhu As always, grateful and indebted to the fan."

This is the first tweet posted from Vivek's handle after his demise. Harish Kalyan, who played the lead in Dharala Prabhu also thanked SIIMA. He tweeted, "For a second my eyes widened to see #Vivek sir’s tweet. I just wish things were just the same. Taking & keeping all our #DharalaPrabhu memories close to my heart. Thanks @siima for this Miss you Doctor Kannadasan !! Your fan always."
