Latest on KCRs surgery

Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief, K Chandrasekhar Rao, have been hospitalized at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad's Somajiguda due to injuries sustained from a fall at his Erravalli farmhouse. The incident occurred when Rao slipped and fell, resulting in a broken left hip bone. There are indications that the fracture may necessitate surgery. Currently, he is undergoing treatment and is under the care of a multi-disciplinary medical team, including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine, with his general condition deemed stable.

The Yashoda Hospital's Health Bulletin confirmed the diagnosis of a left hip fracture (Intracapsular Neck of femur fracture) through CT scans. The recommended course of action is a left hip replacement, with the anticipated recovery period being six to eight weeks.

Following a successful surgery conducted by a team of senior orthopedic surgeons and medical professionals at Yashoda Hospital, Kavitha, Rao's daughter and Member of Legislative Council, provided an update. The operation involved a left Total Hip Replacement, and according to the hospital's health bulletin, KCR tolerated the surgery well, remained stable throughout the procedure, and has now been shifted to his room for recuperation. The post-operative care includes IV fluids, prophylactic antibiotics, and pain medication.

Latest on KCRs surgery

KT Ramarao, KCR's son, mentioned on 'X' earlier in the day that Rao needed to undergo a hip replacement surgery after his fall. Kavitha clarified that her father suffered a minor hip bone injury, the surgery was successful, and he is currently doing well. The routine post-operative plan includes ambulation, physiotherapy, and nutrition, with assessments scheduled for Saturday to determine the course of recovery, expected to be six to eight weeks.

Notable figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, have extended wishes for KCR's speedy recovery. PM Modi, in a message on 'X,' expressed distress over the injury and prayed for KCR's quick recovery and good health.

Kavitha earlier mentioned that Rao fell in the washroom, resulting in a hairline fracture on his hip. X-rays and tests were conducted, leading to the decision for surgery. The family remains optimistic about his overall health despite the unfortunate incident.
