As per reports, Crime Branch sources have revealed that businessman Raj Kundra has been in contact with Pradeep Bakshi, who resides in the United Kingdom and operates the Kenrin Production House, a company based in the UK.

The leaked WhatsApp chats between Raj Kundra and Pradeep Baskhi revealed how the transactions were made and also the amount of money that was minted by the creation of pornographic content. Raj Kundra is allegedly an indirect owner and investor of Kenrin production house, while his former PA Umesh Kamat was employed as a representative of the firm in India. The company apparently gave contracts to agents to make pornographic films.

Reports also claim that Raj Kundra has been receiving regular payments, amounting to Rs 9.65 lakh, in his bank account from the porn app Hot Hit, which was named in the racket busted by Mumbai Police in February this year. Ahead of the incident, Raj Kundra had received Rs 2.7 lakh on February 3 from Hot Hit and he also received Rs 95,000 on January 23, Rs 1 lakh on January 20, Rs 2 lakh on January 13, and Rs 3 lakh on January 10.

After making the arrest on July 19, the Mumbai Police Commissioner was quoted as saying, "There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in Feb 2021 about creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We've arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this."

The businessman, who has been sent to judicial custody till July 23, is booked under IPC sections of cheating, indulging in obscene act in public places and publicly exhibiting or circulating obscene books or literature and also under the Information Technology Act.
