Legendary actor Nedumudi Venu passed away

Veteran Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu passed away on Monday. He was 73. On Sunday, the actor is reported to have suffered uneasiness and was rushed to a private hospital. He had been in a serious condition and was admitted to the intensive care unit, said the doctors who treated him. His condition worsened, and he took his last breath at 01.00 PM, on October 11, 2021. It was recently the actor had recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Venu started his career as a journalist. He was also a popular theatre personality before making his entry to cinema in 1978 with the movie Thambu. Having acted in over 500 films, Nedumudi Venu has won three National Film Awards and 6 state film awards. Widely touted to be one of the most impeccable stars in Mollywood, Nedumudi Venu has acted with almost all Superstars in the industry. Some of the noted movies of Nedumudi Venu include Bharatham, Thenmavin Kombath, Chithram, Balettan, His Highness Abdullah, Megham, Odaruthammaava Aalariyaam, Ishtam, Kakkakuyil, etc. Known for his versatility, the actor has also played several notable roles in Tamil cinema as well. 

On the work front, Nedumudi Venu’s recent release was Aanum Pennum, a Malayalam Anthology, in which he appeared in the Rani segment.  He was part of 'Summer of 92', from the Navarasa Anthology which was directed by Priyadarshan.  Nedumudi Venu will be next seen in 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham', also directed by Priyadarshan starring Mohanlal in the lead.
