Let's expand our base to Tamil: Allari Naresh

If Tamil heroes like Suriya and Karthi are making the AP market their own, it would not be wrong if we expand our base in the Tamil market, feels Allari Naresh. Chipping in with his views about his desire to go Tamil, and do at least two movies in Kollywood every year, he said that if his films made in Telugu were to be dubbed and released in TN, they would fetch the producer a profit of at least Rs. 1 crore more. (His films are made at a cost of Rs. 5.5-6 cr., approximately)

I was surprised when not less than 7-8 Tamil producers approached me with offers even when I was shooting for Porali (released in Telugu as Sangharshana). I feel that there is nothing wrong if we try to expand our market. That's why, I am planning to act in at least 4-5 films in Telugu, and one or two films in Tamil, Naresh has said.

Speaking about trying different roles on screen, Naresh says that doing comedy is cakewalk to none. In the same breath, he adds that all lovers of cinema want to see their heroes doing comedy. We are witness to how even action heroes like Akshay Kumar have attained stardom by playing comedy roles. When those famous for doing comedies act in sentimental roles, people tend to like them. This explains why my Gamyam act was liked by the audience instantaneously, he discerns.
