Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has surprised fans with an unexpected announcement: he will be stepping away from all social media platforms for a while. The statement, shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, has sparked widespread discussion among his followers.

Lokesh, one of Tamil cinema’s most sought-after directors, rose to fame with his debut film Maanagaram. He went on to direct blockbuster hits like Kaithi, Master, Vikram, and Leo, collaborating with top stars including Karthi, Vijay, and others.

He is currently wrapping up Coolie, his much-anticipated film with Superstar Rajinikanth. With the shoot nearly complete and post-production in full swing, the team is preparing for the film’s grand release on August 14. Promotions for the movie are expected to begin soon.

Announcing his temporary digital detox, Lokesh wrote, “I’m going to take a break from all social media platforms for some time. I won’t be back online until the promotions for Coolie begin.”
