In an exciting turn of events, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to step in front of the camera as the lead actor in an upcoming film directed by Arun Matheswaran, known for the Dhanush-starrer Captain Miller.

Lokesh, one of Tamil cinema’s most successful directors, made his debut with Maanagaram and rose to fame with back-to-back hits like Khaithi, Master, Vikram, and Leo. He recently completed shooting for Coolie, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, and is expected to begin work on Khaithi 2 next.

Though primarily known for his directorial brilliance, Lokesh Kanagaraj has made brief on-screen appearances in films like Master and Singapore Saloon, and also featured in the music video Inimeel alongside Shruti Haasan.

Now, reports confirm that Arun Matheswaran has roped in Lokesh to play the lead in his upcoming project. The film is expected to go on floors soon, ahead of Arun’s long-delayed biopic on music maestro Ilaiyaraaja.
