At the audio launch event of the upcoming film 'Maaman', director Prashanth Pandiraj became emotional as he opened up about his failures and family struggles.
Following the success of ‘Viduthalai’ and subsequent hits like ‘Kottukkaali’ and ‘Garudan’, actor Soori is set to star in the family drama 'Maaman', releasing on May 16. Directed by Prashanth Pandiraj, a former assistant to Pandiraj, the film focuses on the relationship between a maternal uncle and his loved ones, appealing to all generations.
At the event, the director stated, “This is not just a story about a maternal uncle, it speaks about every relationship. After my big failure with 'Bruce Lee', I was thrown into darkness. I’m thankful to Madhan and Ayyappan for trusting me with the ‘Vilangu’ web series. The support from media, YouTubers, and meme creators made that project successful. They helped me rise again.”
Overcome with emotion, Prashanth added, “In chasing my career, I’ve hurt my family, especially my wife. I want to apologize to her publicly and I dedicate this film to her.”
‘Maaman’ has already caught attention with its family-oriented trailer and stands as a heartfelt project from a director seeking redemption and expressing gratitude.
