Simbu's 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamachi has taken the box office by storm and has emerged a blockbuster hit. The time loop based thriller shows no signs of slowing down as more and more families are thronging theaters even braving the monsoon rains.

Venkat Prabhu in his most recent interaction has confirmed that a sequel to 'Maanaadu' is on the cards and will definately happen soon. He further added that the core theme of the film will focus on the strong confronatation between Abdul Khaliq played by Simbu and his nemesis the wily cop Dhanushkodi played by S.J. Suryah. The backstories of the two warring characters is expected to be explored in detail and they will be caught in a different time loop according to sources.

'Maanaadu 2' will most likely have all the cast and crew members such as Kalyani Priyadarshan, Y Gee Mahendra, Aravind Akash, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Praveen KL and Richard M Nathan. Stay tuned for any development on this exciting sequel in the works.
