Actor Madhavan made his debut in Tamil cinema with the movie Alaipayuthey directed by Maniratnam, and the movie released on April 14, 2000, celebrating its twentieth anniversary of release yesterday.

Fans of the director and actor all over the world were rejoicing the occasion on social media, tweeting their memories of the superhit movie which had Shalini paired with Madhavan, and even Madhavan and cinematographer PC Sreeram got nostalgic on Twitter.
