Director Magizh Thirumeni, who is gearing up for the release of Vidaamuyarchi starring Ajith on February 6, recently shared his thoughts on the concept of Pan-Indian films during an interview.

He stated that simply casting a famous actor from every state does not make a film truly Pan-Indian. According to him, many films from the past fit this category long before the term was coined. He cited examples like Marocharitra and Enga Veettu Pillai, which were initially released in one language and later adapted for other regions, proving that the idea of Pan-Indian films is not new-only the business model has evolved.

Magizh Thirumeni further explained that while Pan-Indian films are primarily commercial ventures designed for box office success, this is not inherently wrong. "Art and cinema thrive on revenue, and only commercially successful films can help the industry grow," he said.

His statements have sparked discussions among fans and cinephiles, with his perspective on the changing landscape of Indian cinema going viral on social media.
