Maha politics is like Balakot airstrikes: Netizens

In a humongous twist, the nation today woke up to the news that Devendra Fadnavis would be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar will be his Deputy. It's not clear whether the BJP will have the numbers to prove the majority, given that Sharad Pawar is still sending confusing signals. As per Sharad, the party is not with Ajit. In that case, the BJP will lose the floor test, as it will fall short of the majority.

But certain commentators are of the view that Amit Shah has already split the NCP unofficially. This afternoon, Supriya Sule was almost in tears. There is a view that Uddhav Thackeray, who was to be the Chief Minister till yesterday, is shocked to the core at what happened overnight.

Netizens are busy drawing parallels between the Maha politics and the Balakot airstrikes which the Indian Air Force launched against Pakistan in February. "Both strikes were carried at night. The opponent remained clueless. Massive damage was inflicted on the opponents. Strikes were carried out inside enemy territories. In both cases, the Congress party was devastated," says a WhatsApp forward.
