Director Shankar is next filming Indian 2, the sequel to his 1996 superhit Indian, and this movie also stars Kamal Haasan in the lead along with a huge cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Siddarth, Rakul Preet Singh and many others.

The team had been planning a schedule in EVP film City, Poonamallee and were designing sets, and unfortunately during the designing of the sets, a heavy light which had been held at a height of 150 feet from the ground fell after the crane failed.

The heavy light fell on technicians who were on ground and it has been reported that three people including an assistant director, a personal assistant and a food provider were killed in the accident and more than 10 crew members were injured.
