Malayalam movie 'Jallikattu' goes to Oscars from India

India's official entry to the Oscars is here. The critically-acclaimed Malayalam film 'Jallikattu' is the one. The Film Federation of India on Wednesday said that the film has been sent to the 93rd Academy Awards 2021 in the International Film Feature category.
Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, 'Jallikattu' won the race that had 26 other films in the fray. Admittedly based on 'Maoist', a short story, this one featured Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad, and Santhy Balachandran.
commenting on the development, journalist Naomi Datta wrote, It is only but apt that the Malayalam film industry which has made some of the best Indian films in recent years represents India (sic).
