Mammootty acting with Simbu in an Alphonse Puthren movie?

Alphonse Puthran's Premam' was a super duper hit of 2015 and through it the director became a known name pan South India. The film was remade into other languages and it repeated the success there too.
The latest news is that the hit director's next project is a Tamil movie. There are reports that Simbu is the hero and it garnered instant attention for some other reason. What is the big deal about it? People speak about avidly because Megastar Mammootty is doing a cameo role in the film. If it is true then it would be the first time that Mammooty teams up with Simbu and Alphonse.
The role, even though cameo, is said to be an important one.
The film is said to be multi-lingual and would be seen in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam & Hindi.
