Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman move to London for this important work - Exciting DEETS

The first part of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' was released last September 30th to universal critical acclaim and went on to become the number one grossing Tamil film in history. Now all eyes are on April 28th when 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' will be released worldwide in multiple languages carrying even higher expectations than the original.

While the first part of 'Ponniyin Selvan' has collected rupees 500 crore rupees, the trade is hoping that the sequel will rake in double that amount. Promotions are in full swing already and last evening the first single 'Aga Naga' sung by Shaktishree Gopalan and featuring Trisha and Karthi in the film was released to tremendous response. Fans believe that Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman is back to his best form.

Meanwhile Rahman himself has dashed off to London along with Mani Ratnam to complete the background score of 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' aka 'PS-2'. Pics of the super talented masters hard at work at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London have now gone viral on the internet.

'Ponniyin Selvan 2' produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies has the stellar cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prakashraj, Rahman, Kishore, Ashwin Kakkamanu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Riaz Khan, Lal, Mohan Raman and Balaji Sakthivel, among others.
