As the buzz around Taklife continues to grow, director Mani Ratnam has dropped a major hint about his next project — a film likely to feature fresh faces and focus on romance, reminiscent of his 2015 hit O Kadhal Kanmani.
Taklife, starring Kamal Haasan, Simbu, and Trisha, is all set for a grand worldwide release on June 5. Promotions are in full swing, with the team recently heading to Mumbai to continue the campaign. The much-anticipated track "Sugar Baby" is also being released today, adding to the excitement.
Amidst these promotions, Mani Ratnam, in a recent media interview, addressed the speculation surrounding his next film. He said:
“Right now, it’s just an idea. I’d love to make a romantic film with new faces. But the script needs to be fully ready, and I need the right actors for it. If these fall into place, I’ll definitely make it. Maybe not today, but definitely tomorrow.”
With this statement, Mani Ratnam has all but confirmed his intention to return to a genre he has often excelled in — heartfelt romance with a fresh cast. Though the project is still in its early conceptual stage, fans are already eager to see what cinematic magic the legendary filmmaker will deliver next.
