Indiaglitz brought the news to you first that the 'Ponniyin Selvan' team will launch the most-awaited 'PS1' teaser at the launch event in Chennai Trade Centre at 6 PM on July 8 (Friday). Now, the production house has made the official announcement regarding the teaser's digital release.

The makers took to social media handles to update that the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' teaser will land on the internet at 6 pm today (July 8). They posted special videos stating that the superstars Suriya, Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Mahesh Babu and Rakshit Shetty will launch the Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada teasers of 'PS1'.

It is notable that Suriya and Mohanlal has worked with Mani Ratnam earlier in 'Aayudha Ezhuthu' and 'Iruvar', respectively.Amitabh Bachchan was initially supposed to play the Sundara Chola role in the movie. And also, Mani Ratnam planned 'Ponniyin Selvan' in 2010 with Mahesh Babu playing the titular role but the project didn't kick off due to budget issues then.

'Ponniyin Selvan' has music by A.R. Rahman and stars an ensemble cast of top stars including Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram, Sarathkumar, Lal Parthiban, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakkamanu and others. Ravi Varman handled the cinematography and Jeyamohan wrote the dialogues.
