Mani Ratnam delivered the blockbuster multistarrer movie 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' starring Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Arvind Swamy, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aishwarya Rajesh. In late last year, the classic director has started shooting his dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan' starring Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwary Rai, Trisha and Aishwarya Lakshmi among others.

Mani Ratnam is simultaneously cowriting and producing 'Vaanam Kottattum' starring Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Madonna Sebastian. It has just been announced that the teaser of the film will be released on January 8th. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam's assistant Dhana who also directed the critically acclaimed 'Padai Veeran'.
