Krish's 'Manikarnika', a biopic of Rani Laxmibai, has yet another subtle actor on board. It's Atul Kulkarni of 'Rang De Basanti' fame.
He will essay the role of Tantya Tope, the Jhansi warrior-queen's trusted and brave ally. In preparing for the challenging role, Atul is training in sword-fighting and horse-riding. He will have some crucial scenes with Kangana Ranaut, the talented actress who is playing the titular role.
Since Krish has listened to many folk accounts of Laxmibai, expect the film to tell interesting, unheard of sub-plots about the warrior queen.
Written by the very sensational script-writer Vijayendra Prasad, the film is expected to be a huge magnum opus.
'Manikarnika' is slated for a grand release on April 27, 2018.
