It's a known fact that director Maniratnam who had last directed the multistarrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is next directing the mega budget Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan, based on Kalki Krishnamoorthy novel.

It has been already announced that the movie stars Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Rahman, Jayaram, Lal and Ashwin and has music by AR Rahman.

Now it has been revealed that the movie also stars veteran actor Nizhalgal Ravi and that he'll be seen playing the role of Chinna Pazhuvettarayar. The movie will resume shooting in October, and Ponniyin Selvan team has reportedly locked locations in Madhya Pradesh for the shooting.
