Actor Dhanush's recent hit Asuran directed by Vetrimaran, which was based on Vekkai novel by Poomani was the Tamil film debut of London based independent singer Teejay Arunasalam. Teejay had played Dhanush and Manju Warrier's son in Asuran.

After the success of Asuran, the actor and singer is said to have signed another big project in Tamil. The latest speculations making rounds is that, Teejay has been signed to play an important role in director Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selvan which begins shooting in December.

While an official announcement is awaited, Teejay had posted a photo of him on his social media account, captioning it "I've Started working on the next Transformation Look. Very Excited to Board this Fabulous Team. 2 months of Continous Gym for an #ActionThriller Lets Get fit! #Style #Action #Movie #Actor #TeeJay #Shooting #December #ARRahman #music", and the hashtags December shooting and AR Rahman strongly hint of Teejay referring to Ponniyin Selvan.
