Manju Warrier donates TV sets to help students kerala virtual class

The Kerala government had reopened all educational institutions through virtual classes from June 1 due to the coronavirus scare. The virtual sessions are telecast through Victers channel, under the State General Education Department, for classes one to 12 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays. For those who have no TV can take up the classes online
But several families in rural areas, especially in the tribal areas, are still unable to attend classes because of the unavailability of television sets and smartphones. In order to support such families, actress Manju Warrier, filmmakers Aashiq Abu and B Unnikrishnan have joined hands to donate TV sets. Under the initiative called 'TV Challenge', launched by a political party in Kerala, people can donate TV sets to the struggling families.
Reportedly, Mollywood’s Lady superstar Manju Warrier becomes the first Mollywood celebrity to join the initiative. While Manju Warrier donated 5 television sets, director B Unnikrishnan offered three television sets and Aashiq Abu donated five television sets.
A day ago, a 10th standard girl from Malappuram committed suicide as she couldn't afford to attend the virtual class. The incident sent shockwaves across the state. The new initiative is expected to help needy kids.
