Mel Gibson's Surprise Appearance at 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Premiere

It was a complete show-stopper moment when Mel Gibson unexpectedly arrived at the Hollywood premiere of the George Miller's post-apocalyptic action film 'Mad Max: Fury Road' on Thursday.

Actor-director Mel Gibson, now 59 was the original Max Rockatansky FROM 1979-1985 when he starred in three 'Mad Max' movies. The actor had surprised everyone by attending the premiere and posed for photos on the red carpet beside the star of the film Tom Hardy and the director.

As of now, there is a speculation that 'Mad Max: Fury Road' will do an opening weekend business of $40 million-plus.

The film also has a stellar additional cast that includes Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Megan Gale.

"From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary Mad Max franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows."

'Mad Max: Fury Road' is ready to hit screens worldwide on May 15.
