Madhurey

'Madhurey' directed by Ramana Madesh had Vijay and Vadivelu teaming up again to give relentless comedy. Vadivelu's role in the film as Pandu cracked up the audience with unique body language and comic attributes. The film’s reception was exemplary so much so that it became the actor’s first film to have its prints to be sold over 1 crore in the Coimbatore area.

Sachein

'Sachein' directed by John Mahendran is a romantic comedy film with Vijay and Genelia D'Souza in the lead roles. Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bagavathy' directed by Venkatesh had Vadivelu in dual roles as Vadivelu and Vibration. The scenes where the doppelgangers meet are hilariously scripted with each situation always ending in a bad note for Vadivelu. The film which saw a simultaneous release in Telegu and also dubbed in Hindi became a commercial high grosser and declared a superhit.

Vaseegara

'Vaseegara' is a romantic comedy film directed by Selva Barathy with Vijay and Sneha in the lead roles. Vadivelu plays the role of Kattabomman who goes on to torment Vijay's character right from day one. The duo’s comic chemistry proved itself once again making this a film a well rounded drama interlaced with hilarious humour.

Sura

Apart from his exemplary performances in films, an interesting thing to note is the comic names he has in films. In ‘Sura’ directed by S.P Rajkumar, Vadivelu plays sidekick to Vijay as Umbrella and as usual leave the audience laughing to his buffonery and naivete. Though the film was not commercially successful, the Vijay- Vadivelu combination demands one to revisit the film whenever one feels so.

Villu

'Villu' directed by Prabhu Deva had Vijay playing the role of Pughazh who wants to avenge his father’s injustice and Vadivelu playing Maadasamy, an audiographer. The movie has numerous instances where the duo crack up the audience with their usual tomfoolery and gags that makes us giggle non stop.

Mersal

Vijay's 'Mersal' directed by Atlee is one of the biggest releases this year. This film is speacial as Vadivelu reunites with after long gap of six years. The film has Vadivelu playing an important full fledged role sharing screenspace with Thalapathy.
