What Shahrukh Khan is to Chopras and Johars, Akshay Kumar is to Darshans. Rarely are any movies coming from Dharmesh Darshan and Suneel Darshan that do not star Akshay Kumar. This time around it is 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' which is directed by Suneel Darshan and stars Karishma Kapoor (in her first negative avtaar) and Amisha Patel as the leading ladies. Produced by Suraj Prakash, MJS has music and lyrics by Darshan regulars Nadeem Shravan and Sameer.

What does a man do when he has to choose between the woman he loves and the woman who loves him? What makes him chose between the woman who was his source of inspiration and the woman who was the trigger point of his success? Which of the two women can he finally call 'Mere Jeevan Saathi'?

Since ages, Bollywood has witnessed love triangles of varied degrees and shades. Now add Mere Jeevan Saathi to the list.

Akshay Kumar, riding high on the multiple successes of 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', 'Aitraaz' and 'Waqt', is a young man Vicky, who is dreaming of being a pop star. His dreams are supported by his college sweetheart Anjali (a favorite name for Darshans) played by Amisha Patel. Both of them work and pray hard for his success and that one elusive break. With dreams in eyes and a simple life to look forward to, the love story of Vicky and Anjali also progresses further.

Lady luck arrives soon with Vicky's signature song 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' rocking one of the shows he participates in. His talent doesn't go unnoticed and he is signed by event organizers Morani and Torani [Gulshan Grover - Ashish Vidyarthi] for their stage shows. But as the saying goes - when it rains it pours!! Because no sooner than he is signed by Morani-Torani, the news of his talent also reaches West and he is offered a proposal by a renowned music company Angel International Music.

A novice in the world of music, he has to make a choice between those who signed him first and those who offered him a much more lucrative offer. He goes with the latter, hence turning Morani-Torani against him. Now they want his career to be destroyed at any cost and in the process end up hurting Vicky's lady love Anjali, who is left wounded.

Vicky is forced to make the second most critical choice of his life now. Either he stays back with Anjali till she gets back to good health or go ahead to pursue his dreams. Anjali, as a true well wisher of her lover, persuades him to opt for the latter and off he goes to Canada.

This is where the twist in the tale comes. Because Angel International Music is owned by none other than Natasha, a glamorous and intelligent woman [Karishma Kapoor], who was silently in love with Vicky in the college days. In fact she also turns out to be the writer of the love song 'Mere Jeevan Saathi', which was unknown to Vicky all this while.

Old memories get rekindled for Natasha whose love for Vicky turns from possessive to the extent of being obsessive. Not to let the man of her desire go off so easily, her character takes such a negative turn that could harm the lives of anyone coming in her way.

The lives of Anjali, Vicky or even herself!!

Indebted by Natasha's contribution to his success and Anjali's moral support all this while, Vicky has to make a choice again - the third and the most important ever of his life.

If he goes with Natasha, he ends up hurting the woman who was his pillar of support in his rough times. If he goes with Anjali, there is a threat of three lives in danger. And all this while, he also needs to think about his first love - MUSIC. A dream that may break after being so close to reality!!

With three strong factors in its favor [Nadeem Shravan's music, Akshay Kumar in the lead and Karishma Kapoor's first ever negativ
