Hollywood actor Michael Sheen is well known for his roles in films like "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," and "Midnight in Paris."
In Port Talbot, UK, Tata Steel closed its steel plant last year, leading to 2,800 workers losing their jobs. This resulted in severe financial struggles for these workers and their families, as many were unable to repay their debts.
Upon learning about their plight, Michael Sheen stepped in to help. He donated ₹8.7 crore to clear the debts of 900 affected workers, providing significant financial relief.
Originally from South Wales, Sheen founded an organization to support his hometown’s unemployed workers. He mentioned that he did not personally know the workers but was aware of their financial difficulties. He learned about their struggles during an emotional conversation with a coffee shop employee in Port Talbot, which inspired him to take action.
