Veteran Asian superstar joins Avatar sequels

James Cameron is busy shooting the sequels of his magnum opus 'Avatar' which will extend to four in number with release dates fixed as December 18, 2020, December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang from the original are reprising their roles along with others.

It has now been announced that veteran Asian superstar Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast and will be playing Dr. Karina Mogue a scientist. James Cameron has stated, "Throughout her career, Michelle has always created unique and memorable characters, I look forward to working with Michelle to do the same thing on the 'Avatar' sequels.”

Malaysian born Michelle Yeoh over the years has featured in several Hong Kong action movies and became world famous after starring alongside Jackie Chan in 'Supercop', 'Once Upon a Time in China' opposite Jet Li, Oscar winning “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and the James Bond flick “Tomorrow Never Dies”.
