Migrants crisis: Rahul Gandhi unveils a documentary

"A few days ago, I met a group of migrants walking hundreds of km from their worksite in Haryana to their village near Jhansi, UP," Rahul Gandhi said on Friday night, announcing the release of a documentary on the migrants crisis in the country. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the former Congress President unveiled the documentary on his YouTube channel, saying that it captures a "conversation with India’s unsung heroes, our migrant brothers and sisters who have suffered tremendous hardship, violence and injustice in these past weeks."

The purpose of the documentary is to embarrass the NDA government over its "poor handling" of the lockdown, which has palpably left millions of migrants stranded across India.

Going by the latest release, it seems Rahul and Congress' new strategy is to leverage the reach and influence of YouTube to cater to its potential voters, especially those with access to the Internet in India's towns and villages.

"A glimpse into the immense suffering migrant workers are facing every day due to the nationwide lockdown," the Congress party tweeted out, sharing the documentary on its official handle.
