Another 'Madras' Actor retained in 'Kabali'

Actor Mime Gopi shot to fame with director Pa. Ranjith’s critically acclaimed super hit ‘Madras’. Gopi’s performance as the scion of a political family who loses his life over the battle of gaining dominance of a wall that remains the bone of contention between two political groups was appreciated by critics.

Now the great news comes for this budding actor as he has been retained by Ranjith for his next film ‘Kabali’ with Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. While the exact details about the character that would be played by Gopi are not available, it has been confirmed that he will be playing a negative role in the highly anticipated film. Gopi has confirmed his presence in the film and would start shooting for the film that would go on floors very soon. The film supporting cast includes another ‘Madras’ fame actor Kalaiyarasan in an important role.

Earlier this year Gopi acted as a gang leader who wants to supersede Dhanush Pigeon fight competitions in the Balaji Mohan directed super hit film ‘Maari’.  After starring in two back to back super hit film Gopi is presently acting in eight films, including and most of them are negative roles. The list includes ‘Geththu’ directed by Thirukumaran in which he plays the elder brother to Udhayanidhi Stalin.
