The Tamil Nadu Minister for Cooperation Sellur K Raju has tested positive for COVID 19 and has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for treatment. A few days earlier his wife Jayanti tested positive for the virus and was admitted at a private hospital in Manappakkam Chennai and Raju at that time tested negative.

However,in a subsequent test Sellu Raju has also tested COVID 19 positive and has joined his colleagues Thangamani and K.C. Anbazhagan who are also the ministers under treatment. Raju is pretty popular in social media after his suggestion to use thermocol sheets to prevent water evaporation in the Vaigai dam and the video went viral.
