Pudukottai is one of the many regions that have been devastated by the Gaja Cyclone and Minister Vijayabhaskar has been camping there to supervise the relief works. Today while trying to restore power a few Tamil Nadu Electricity Board staff were working atop electric poles when unexpectedly there was a surge of power and one of the workers was badly injured by electric shock.

Vijayabhaskar who was passing by immediately jumped out of his vehicle and joined the rescuers and helped to the ground the injured Murugesan and Mohan and personally admitted them to a nearby hospital. The onlookers were impressed by the Minister's humanitarian action and expressed their thanks when he visited them at the hospital premises.
