Trend setting young filmmaker Aashiq Abu is busy filming new movie Rani Padmini. Aashiq says that Manju Warrier is the real reason for doing the film. The movie is about the struggles of two women.
The director made it clear that it was almost impossible to think about scripts of this sort earlier, as there were few actresses who could pull off such a powerful character. Manju Warrier's successful comeback is a really welcome development according to him.
Rima Kallingal,Aashiq's wife, plays one of the two lead roles in Rani Padmini.
Aashiq also stated that it was his long time wish, to direct a women-centric film, like the yesteryear films Panchagni and Kaakkothikkavile Appoppanthadikal. Aashiq assures that Rani Padmini will be a different portrayal of a strong relationship between two women.
